I have an exciting announcement…

It’s CAL time!  I’m excited to announce we will be having our first ever crochet along!

National Crochet Month is here and we’re hooking full speed, to celebrate I’m hosting a crochet along.  Yesterday I shared a springy grass green cowl:

I thought it would be a great pattern to work on together!  Every Friday in March and April, we’ll work on a section.  It is a very quick project and I have it spread out to give us lots of time.  It is perfect for spring because it is not bulky but still gives a bit of coziness in the early spring…cute right now and when short sleeves make their debut too!  Here’s the schedule:

Cowl CAL Schedule:

Friday, March 8, Yarn and Hook selection

Friday, March 15, Reading the Pattern

Friday, March 22, Beginning chain and single crochet section

Friday, March 29, Double Crochet Section

Friday, April 5, Treble Crochet Section

Friday, April 12, Repeats, Length choices

Friday, April 19, Finishing (seaming, weaving in ends)

Friday, April 26, Show it off!

Join us tomorrow when we select our yarn and hooks…I’ve decided to use my yarn stash as a source…I’ll share more about that tomorrow.  Don’t know how to crochet?  No worries, we’ll learn as we go along!

  1. Lovely infinity scarf! And I love that green! And I also love that it's Vanna's Choice which is a very affordable skein of yarn!

  2. I'm excited to follow along. I'm new to crocheting as of Christmas and I've made a granny square blanket and working on a second, but I want to make a scarf. I just don't understand how to read patterns yet. Count me in.

    1. Yay, so excited! We're going to go through everything step by step including reading the pattern…so glad you can participate!

  3. Uh oh! This was the final push for me to pick up my hook again. Will there be a flickr group? Quilt alongs have flickr groups and it is fun and encouraging to see everybody's work.

    1. Hooray! Glad you can join us…thanks too for the great idea, I was thinking everyone could share via the Facebook Fiber Flux page or the Ravelry pattern page. For each CAL post, I'll provide links to make it super easy to get to. Hope that helps! 🙂

  4. Thanks for posting such a great idea! I haven't created an infinity scarf yet so this will be the motivation for that. I'd love to see everyone's work on the Ravelry page. I'll have to go through my stash and see what happens….
