Free Knitting Pattern…Chunky Arm Knit Cowl!

The Chunky Arm Knit Cowl is a lightning fast and easy project that shows off your favorite bulky yarn.  It is a great first project for arm knitting too.  Be sure to scroll down to watch the two videos below if you have never arm knit before.

Materials:

  • 1/2 Skein Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick (“Eggplant” colorway shown
  • 1/2 Skein Lion Brand Tweed Stripes (“Orchid ” colorway shown)
  • Scissors
  • Your arms!

Note:  You can use any bulky/super bulky yarns for this project, if you are unsure about your yarn and/or the colors you have chosen, you can do a test swatch to see how everything will come together.

Sizing: 

  • 15 inches wide (unstretched)
  • 31 inch circumference (unstretched)

Instructions:

CO 12 (leave some extra for seaming up later)

Row 1: Knit all stitches.

Repeat row 1 for a total of 10 rows.

Finishing and Assembly:

Flip the cowl over so that the wrong side is facing out.  Sandwich the CO and BO ends together.  Using one of the tails, whip stitch it with your hands.  Weave in any ends, turn the cowl right side out, and you’re finished!
