Doggie Bandana, A Pattern Review

As soon as I saw this pattern from Posh Pooch Designs, I knew I had to make it for my own dog. The pattern was fun to make and the instructions were easy as pie.  It was also very easy to adjust for different dog sizes, as my dog is a huge Lab and the doggies from the original pattern are cute little Chihuahuas.  No problems at all whatsoever there, simply just worked a few more rows of the triangle part and added longer tie strings to accommodate his larger neck circumference.  The pattern also has instructions for both a solid and striped bandana too.

I added my own heart applique to give it a little something extra as well and made sure to use a hardworking, washable yarn (Red Heart Super Saver) because soon after I snapped these photos, he promptly ran off and rolled around in the grass, he’s so silly!  Thanks to my bloggy pal at Posh Pooch Designs for a great pattern!

  1. Love your Lab! We have a huge 2 1/2 year old honey colored golden retriever. Zoe weighs at least 90 lbs. It is difficult to find patterns for large dogs. I did find a crocheted ear flap hat pattern, but haven't had time to crochet it. Zoe will probably eat it. Her trainer said she has doggy ADHD. She has come a long way in the last year. Posh Pooch has the cutest patterns.

    1. Your labbie sounds like a lot of fun! When my dog was about that age, he ate everything in sight too! He especially liked books, he's thankfully past that now.

  2. Wow, what a gorgeous dog ! Your bandana is really cute on him, I love the way you always have these beautiful appliques to sew on your projects !

    1. Thanks for such a kind comment! He's a very good dog, and was very patient when he was modeling his new bandana!
