Review: Lion Brand Kids Knitting Needles

I've had these needles for quite some time and we have made lots of fun things with them!  Because they are so fun and easy to use, I of course had to share them with you too!  I made a quick informational video, also knitting with them so you can see them in action.  Because they are two colors they are perfect for teaching someone to knit or even teaching yourself how to knit too!

Note: These needles were purchased by me.  This post contains affiliate links.  All opinions are my own.

Continuous Crochet...Book Review and Giveaway!

I was recently able to review the fabulous book Continuous Crochet By Kristin Omdahl (Interweave/F+W ISBN: 9781632501653) and I had a great time checking everything out. Do you love seamless projects? This is the book for you! Inside are a variety of items...wraps, hats, cowls, shrugs, pullovers, and lots more. I love the variety of project sizes and skill levels so that everyone from a beginner to a more advanced crocheted can find a project that is perfect.

The book also contains an abbreviations and techniques section if you need a little extra help.  The illustrations are clear to see and offer a step by step explanation too.  I really like the "sources for yarn" section in the back because all of the yarn in the book is absolutely stunning!

Note: I was given a review copy for this book but was not financially compensated. All opinions are my own.

One of my favorite pieces from this book is the "Isle of Capri" pullover.  Ocean blue flower motifs make a gorgeous and lightweight pullover.

Another favorite of mine is this "Geisha Fan Petal Stitch Shrug"  Delicate, pretty, and absolutely perfect for a warm day.

If you're looking for a smaller seamless project, the "Heather Plum Chain Flower Hat" is worked up in a lacy flower pattern, making it a stunning, yet quick project to stitch up.

The "African Violets Raglan Capelet" is a lovely and lightweight capelet that can be worn as shown below or turned a bit for a v-neck look.  The wispy nature of the yarn and deep purple coloring give it a dreamy, ethereal feel.

The "Urban Fringe Jen's Strips of Stripes Scarf" is is not only gorgeous in its stitchery, but has a unique and practical feature too.  The lacework "strips"  are continued off of the main piece to create fringe.  To style the scarf, simply tie the fringe together to keep it together...clever!
