Summer CAL Color Inspiration! 25+ Color Palette Ideas for Your Blanket

Good morning crocheters!  As we are gearing up for the Summer CAL (in case you missed yesterday’s post, here’s week 1, intro and supplies), I made this fun post to give you some crochet along inspiration…so much fun!

So many of you have been sharing your color choices and others have been asking about additional colors to be used…I though it would be lots of fun to put some additional palettes together.  Each one is 4 colors, the same number I’m using in the tutorials, the make nice and easy to follow along.  Pick and choose what you like, or use them as a springboard for your own inspirations!  Which one is your favorite?

All of the yarn shown below is Red Heart Super Saver, for those of you who can’t get this yarn in your country, Red Heart Super Saver is an Aran weight yarn that recommends a 5.5 mm “I” crochet hook.  Stick with those guidelines and you’ll be fine!  Please be aware not all colors are available everywhere:

Although I’m using the “no dye lot solids” for my blanket, I’ve included some of the multis, prints, etc for more ideas…please note that their yardage is slightly different:

  • No Dye Lot Solids: 364 yards
  • Prints & Multis: 236 yards
  • Flecks: 260 yards
  • Stripes: 236 yards
  • Accent: 202 yards
  • Ombre: 482 yards
  • Plus, Red Heart makes jumbo versions of the Super Saver too–solids are 744 yards and multis are 482 yards.
