Do you crewel?
Just returned this little number to the library (I had to pry it from my fingers, actually), and while anything that has to do with sewing normally completely intimidates me, I have to say the projects in this book are gorgeous, inspirational and make me feel like I can actually do them!
(whether the latter actually happens remains to be seen)
What really captivated me were the Crewelwork projects...stitched in wool on linen, it is every sewist/knitters playground. The wool is so beautiful and luxurious, producing scuptural surfaces, and the many stitches used were so darn lovely.
An interesting and brief history of crewelwork here
Here's the Tree of Life:
Just put her other book, "Stitched In Time" on reserve too.
Purl Soho has some gorgeous crewelwork and knitting supplies (and more!) here
If you would like to try your hand at crewelwork, they have some lovely kits too.

I actually have this book and I also LOVE it. Embroidery was my first "needle craft" and this is one of the first books I used to start that journey. It certainly gave me the confidence to venture into other things, like knitting and crochet! I have you to thank for making that easy for me too!
