Free Knitting Pattern! Play Kitchen Potholders



Play Kitchen Potholders

What's a kitchen without something homemade? Make a few of these for your little one's play kitchen with some leftover cotton yarn. Then grab some plastic food and get cooking!

**Important** These are for play only and not intended for real kitchen use! (May not protect your hands from hot items)

Materials:
  • Cotton Yarn (such as Lily Sugar 'n Cream or Lion Brand Cotton Ease) 
  • US 8 Straight Needles 
  • 2 US 8 DPNs 
  • Tapestry Needle 
Abbreviations:
  • CO: Cast on
  • BO: Bind Off
  • KFB: Knit front and back of each stitch
  • K2tog: Knit two stitches together


Instructions:

CO 4 sts
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: K1, KFB, then knit for remainder of row
Continue in this manner until you have 28 sts on your needle
Next row: Knit 1, k2tog, then knit for the remainder of the row
Continue in this manner until you have 4 sts on the needle
BO 2 sts, switch to DPNs and work in i-cord for 2 inches
BO 2 sts and tack down end with tapestry needle to form a hanging loop.
