Using just a bit of yarn, these fun little stars work up super fast in just one round! Make up a few for a garland or create a shower of them for a window. Tuck one or two in a loved one's lunch or jacket pocket. A fabulous beginner project to learn an array of stitches!
Mix them up with tiny hearts too!
Tiny One Round Hearts Pattern
Materials:
- 5.0mm (H) hook
- Cheerful yarn in color(s) of your choice (I used worsted weight)
- Tapestry needle
- ch: Chain
- sl st: Slip Stitch
- tr: Treble Crochet
Foundation: Chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1: First point—[tr, ch 1, sl st] repeat four more times for a total of five star points.
Here's a video to show you how to crochet a star stitch by stitch:
Finishing:
Fasten off, weave in ends and you're all finished. Note: because the star is so tiny, you may have to shape it just a bit.

I don't seem to be able to download your free patterns. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteUpdate: Just added a print icon to this and all of the other patterns! :-)
DeleteJennifer. Love your patterns and loved your bio. I too am an avid crafter and have been for about sixty years. There is a problem with printing out the patterns, it prints the whole page comments and all. It took seven sheets of paper to print your tiny hearts. Thanks for the patterns!

Thank you so much, you are so sweet!
DeleteIf you want to avoid extra paper you could do one of two things:
When you click the "print this page" button, instead of the "all" option, just select the number of pages you need, for example, 1-5
~or~
With your mouse, highlight the text you need, right click with your mouse and select "copy" and then paste the text to a word document. That way you have exactly what you need and nothing more...plus you can save it in your computer for later if you want.
Hope that helps!!! Happy knitting to you!
Jennifer :-)
Thank you for your pattern. I used it to make an American Flag newborn baby hat for a baby shower put on by Solider's Angels of California for some Marine wives who are expecting.

DeleteThank you for your tiny star pattern... they are perfect to emblishment for the crochet cowboy boots I am making for my 2 grandsons' first birthdays :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, thanks for sharing!!
DeleteThese stars are adorable. I need to make at least 100. Not for any purpose, mind you, just to have.
ReplyDeleteThese are soo adorable!
ReplyDeleteIn your video, you said that you would show how to add more points. But I didn't hear that in the video later. How can I make a 6 pointed star? I want to make Star of David earrings. Thanks so much for all your cute appliques!
I've been looking for a small original thank you for the wonderful nurses at cancer infusion center! A basket of these are perfect, and yep add the tiny hearts too. I'll add a lapel pin to back of them so they can wear them, small perfect thank yous. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI love stars, and have been making them smaller and smaller, but this pattern is the BEST! I'm going to make garlands of red, white and blue stars for my women's group members for the 4th of July, but love all the possibilities mentioned above as well. THANK YOU!
