  1. Would I be able to make more rounds to make larger eggs? How would I do that?

  4. In the Round 1 directions, the last stitch is "4sc". In the column directions, it is "4dc". Which is correct--I'm not sure looking at the illustrations.

  5. hi jennifer and miss mac...i dont mean to step into this uninvited but thought i wud let you know i am a beginner crocheter but i have been doing it steady now for almost 2 months and have picked up a few things along the way..i wud like to share with you how i made my eggs bigger, ..with out ruining the integrity of the egg and jennifers work,,,,i did the 4 chain, and slst..but then, did one round completely of single crochets into the middle, 8 stitches in all,
i just doubled the 4 chain to 8 and
(then doubled the 8 stitches in 2nd rd,)
the second round in each stitch i increased the size with 2 single crochets per stitch.. shud have 16 stitches and then i slip stitch to join each rd. so that kind of drops one stitch from each rd ..

but as i go into the 3rd rd i do what jennifers instructions do into each of the 16 (15) stitches. except in the bottom of the stitches where it is 4sc 1 tr and 4 sc, i changed it to 5 sc, 1 tr and then 5 sc..and slip stitch to join...the last treble shud be at bottom of egg and give the same look with the point, then the more rounded top ...just adjust it to have the last ,or 2nd, tr in the middle directly across from the upper rounded part..for some reason just looking at the little egg you can see where the trebles shud go and it works out...and sl st and fasten off and have fun..
    here is the column directions
CHAIN 4 SL ST TO JOIN
    WHERE I CHANGE IT**
ROUND 1 IN MIDDLE OF CHAIN IN CIRCLE DO 8 SC, I HOLD MY CHAIN TAIL OF YARN SO THAT I SC OVER IT , THIS WILL HELP YOU CLOSE OFF THE HOLE IN THE MIDDLE, OR IF YOU KNOW THE MAGIC CIRCLE CAN DO THAT, BUT IT CONFUSES ME LOL.
ROUND 2 DO 2 SC INTO EACH OF THE 8 STITCHES FROM RD 1(SHUD HAVE 16 STITCHES NOW AND BY SL ST IT SHUD COME OUT OK WITH TREBLES AT TOP AND BOTTOM OF EGG)
ROUND 3 AND FINAL RD DO JENNIFERS STITCHES EXCEPT IN FINAL STITCHES DO 5 SC, TR, 5 SC ROUND 3 COLUMN INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOW,
    2DC INTO THE NEXT 2SC
    1TR INTO NEXT SC
    2DC INTO NEXT SC
** WHERE I CHANGE IT AGAIN
    5 SC
    1 TR
5 SC (THESE FINAL STITCHES SHUD LINE UP THE POINT ACROSS FROM THE ROUNDED PART OF EGG)

i hope this makes sense and helps you miss mac to enlarge the eggs...i like both sizes..they are so sweet ..thanks to everyone who always shares their talents with me...i appreciate it all !!! thank you jennifer, i plan to do the hearts and stars soon and i hope to start doing some things for charities, children , people who are in need of warmth ..or in need of warming their hearts with something cute and nice and pretty!!michele:0)
