Red, White, & Pretty Barrettes, Free Crochet Pattern + Video

The other day when I was making the Star Spangled Wreath, I had some leftover stars, and me being one not to waste (more like a yarny pack rat), I decided to make a cute and super fast little accessory for Independence Day festivities.

In case you missed it, here are the instructions and star pattern for the wreath too:

Anyway, I had an extra barrette lying around (a bobby pin would be just as cute)...

...ran a stripe of hot glue over it and stuck the little stars on.  You could easily use some Fabri-tac as well.

  • 5.0mm (H) hook
  • Red Heart Super Saver in "Blue" "Cherry Red" and "White"
  • Tapestry needle
  • ch: Chain
  • sl st: Slip Stitch
  • tr: Treble Crochet

Foundation: Chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.

Round 1: First point—[tr, ch 1, sl st] repeat four more times for a total of five star points.

Here's a video to show you how to crochet a star stitch by stitch:
