Free Crochet Pattern...Little Raindrops

Hello there April! Crochet these cute little raindrops in just one round to celebrate April showers and May flowers. These are perfect for springtime or a baby shower too.

Little Raindrops
By Jennifer Dickerson

Materials:

  • H (5.0 mm) hook
  • Blue cotton yarn (Yarn shown here is Pisgah Peaches & Creme in "Peacock")
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Sizing:
  • Raindrops are about an inch wide (2.5 cm). However, feel free to experiment with different hooks and yarn to make a variety of different drops! A great stash buster...

Instructions:

Foundation: Chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1:  Work 4 dc, 2 sc, 1 tr, 2 sc into center of ring, then join with a slip stitch to close raindrop and fasten off.

(If you prefer, here is round 1 written in column format so that you won't lose your place.

4 dc,

2 sc,
1 tr,
2 sc

...join with a slip stitch to close raindrop and fasten off.

Finishing:
Weave in ends and you're all finished! Shape a bit with your hands if needed.  I found that giving the top a little pinch made it look extra pointy too.
