The bells I used are recycled from a broken bracelet, but you can find some at the craft store.  For larger bells, be sure to use heavier yarn to accommodate the weight.

Materials Needed:

  • Yarn (I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Glamour in the “Platnimun” colorway, leftover from this scarf project)
  • G (4.0 mm) hook (check your particular yarn label for hook recomendation)
  • Bells or beads (available at most craft stores)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Instructions on how to make an Easy Jingle Bell Garland:

  • To make your own Jingle Bell Garland, begin by stringing bells onto the yarn with a tapestry needle.
  •  Pull a little yarn out from your yarn ball and push the bells back,
  • Put a slip knot on your hook,
  • Decide how much space you’d like in between your bells.  Four chains worked for me, so chain 4 (or any number you’d like) and slide the first bell over,
  • Next, snug it up against the last chain you worked on your hook,
  • and work a chain as you normally would.  The bell will now be integrated into the chain…neat!
  • Continue by repeating this for each bell, until your garland is as long as you like (or until you run out of bells).  Weave in the ends or use the ends to tie it right onto something.  If you prefer a crocheted hanging loop, click here for a tutorial.
  • Hang anywhere you like for some festive cheer!
