My sweet friend is having a baby on St. Patrick's Day! To celebrate her little one, I of course had to make something...so I made her a set of hats, one with a shamrock to commemorate the day of her arrival, and another with a heart to wear afterwards.
For the hat, my friend Lorene over at Cre8tion Crochet had a super cute and very easy hat pattern:

I enjoyed this pattern immensely...clearly written, easy peasy and pretty! In fact, I was able to create a lovely gift for her in an afternoon, thanks to Lorene for that!
I made the hat using Knit Picks Brava Bulky in the "Cream" colorway. It is soft, chunky so it works up fast, and machine washable. The color is nice and neutral and looked especially cute with the appliques. I got two hats from one ball, and could have gotten at least another, maybe even two!
The appliques were made using yarn extras I had on hand, Lion Brand's Vanna's Choice in "Kelly Green" for the shamrock and Red Heart Super Saver in "Perfect Pink" for the heart.
I can't wait to give these to her! Happy stitching everyone!
They are so cute!
