Using just a bit of of yarn, this sweet little carrot works up in no time. The carrot is worked in just one round and is topped off with a cute little leaf cluster on top. A perfect applique for your market tote!
Materials:
- H (5.0 mm) hook
- Cotton yarn in green and orange
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Sizing:
- 1.5 inches wide
- 3 inches tall
Instructions for Carrot:
(Worked in orange yarn)
Foundation: Chain 6 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Round 1 (work all stitches into the center of the ring): 2 tr, 1 dc, 4 sc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 4 sc, 1 dc, join to close carrot with a sl st and fasten off.
Instructions for Carrot Top:
(Worked in green yarn)
Tie green yarn to the stitch at the center top of carrot and chain 4. In the 2nd ch from the hook work a sl st. Work a sl st in each ch, and work one more sl st into the stitch at the base (where the green yarn was tied on).
Repeat two more times for a total of three "leaves"
Finishing:
Weave in the ends and you're all finished!
