Free Crochet Pattern...Christmas Rose Ornament!




This easy ornament makes a lovely addition to a tree or gift!

Materials:
  • Small amounts of worsted weight yarn
  • H (5.0 mm) Hook
  • K (6.50 mm) Hook
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors
Sizing:
  • 5 Inches Tall
  • 3.5 Inches Wide

Instructions for Flower:
(H Hook)

Chain 16, dc in 4th chain from hook, then work 1 more dc in that same chain. Work 3 dc in each chain until you reach the end. The flower will coil up on it own as you work, then fasten off and seam it together.

Instructions for Large Leaf (Make 3):
(H Hook)
Foundation: Chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.

Round 1: In the center of the ring, work 6 dc, 4 sc, 1 tr, 4 sc. Join with a slip stitch to close leaf and fasten off.

Instructions for Small Leaf (Make 3):
(H Hook)

Foundation: Chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.

Round 1: In the center of the ring, work 4 sc, 1 dc, 4 sc. Join with a slip stitch to close leaf and fasten off.


Instructions for Hanging Loop:
(K Hook)

Holding one strand of red and one strand of green, ch 18.  Fasten off.

Finishing & Assembly:

Stacking components kind of like a sandwich, layer rose on top, light green smaller leaves next, darker green larger leaves next, and hanging loop on back.  Sew all layers together securely with matching yarn.  Weave in any ends that remain.
