Yarn Review: Llama By Adriafil

Recently I was given the chance to check out some yarn from the Adriafil Yarn Company. Llama by Adriafil is 50% llama, 50% wool. Each 100 gram hank comes in 7 colors and I was given the “Dark Beige” (63) colorway to try out. I was super excited about playing with this yarn, it is the natural looking and chunkier type of yarn that I always seem to gravitate to in yarn shops.

In addition to the color I was given, Llama comes in a total of 7 different earthy colors.  Below are the available colors, I love them all:

  • 60 cream
  • 63 dark beige
  • 64 brown
  • 67 light grey
  • 68 anthracite grey
  • 74 medium grey
  • 75 black

This yarn I was given is absolutely beautiful…soft to the touch and the color I was given (#63 Dark Beige) is a lovely shade of brown with heathered cream flecks. This is the perfect winter project skein…warm and cozy with a handspun feel.

I can imagine a fabulous chunky cardigan being worked up in all of the gorgeous colors.

I wound my hank into a ball and got right to work, casting a small swatch on my needles.  It had nice stitch definition, while still retaining its soft and rustic appeal.  All in all a lovely, luxurious skein!
