Do you have a super dude that you crochet for? Here is a simple hat you can make...easy and straight forward, nothing fancy, just a warm and cozy hat that actually covers the ear lobes too! Working the bottom half of the hat in the back loops gives it subtly textured band too. This reversible hat has a slightly different looking texture if you turn it inside out too!
It was requested in neutral gray tones, but feel free to choose a favorite color too...striping makes this a great stash busting project too! This hat fits an adult man...field tested and got the seal of approval!

Materials:
- 1 skein Lion Brand Wool Ease Chunky
- L (8.0 mm) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry Needle
Sizing:
- Adult Man (9 inches tall and 21 inch circumference)
Instructions:
Ch 4 and join with a sl st to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 2, then work 11 hdc in the center of the ring, join with a sl st to close round.
Round 2: Ch 2, then work a hdc in the first st, then 2 hdc in each stitch, join with a sl st to close round.
Round 3: Ch 2, then work a hdc in next st and in each st, join with a sl st to close round.
Round 4: Ch 2, then work a hdc in the first st, 2 hdc in next st, *hdc in next st, 2 hdc in each of the next, repeat from * to last st, then work a hdc in last st, join with a sl st to close round.
Round 5: Ch 2, then work a hdc in next st and in each st, join with a sl st to close round.
Round 6: Ch 2, then work a hdc in the first st, *hdc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 2 hdc, repeat from * to last st, then work a hdc in last st, join with a sl st to close round.
Round 7: Ch 2, then work a hdc in next st and in each st, join with a sl st to close round.
Round 8: Ch 2, then work a hdc in blo (back loops only) of next st and a hdc in the blo in each st, join with a sl st to close round.
Repeat round 8 until hat measures 9 inches tall. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Weave in any ends and you're finished!
Hello, I'm having trouble with round 6, specifically the instructions between the *s that calls for 2 hdc in next st, then 2 hdc. What do you mean by the second hdc instruction? Thanks! and I really love your patterns, I've worked many and find them fun and easy!
