Free Crochet Pattern…Sweet Floral Infant Shirt!

Dress up an otherwise plain infant shirt or bodysuit with this simple but beautiful project!  Using small amounts of yarn, you can create a floral trimmed gift for baby to wear.  This would be equally lovely for an older child too.  The yarn used to make the flowers are left over from the Vintage Granny Bonnet (see photo), making it the perfect set for gifting too!

Instructions for Flowers:

Foundation: Chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.

Round 1: Ch 3 and work (2 dc, sl st) into the center of the ring. Next, work (3 dc, sl st) into center of ring four times, then join with a slip stitch to close flower and fasten off.

Finishing & Assembly:

Using the yarn tails and a tapestry needle, sew the flowers onto the garment. It is helpful to lay everything out first to get an idea of placement.  Weave in ends on the back and if you like you can use iron-on embroidery backing to hide the mechanics and make it smooth and soft.
