Materials:
  • Worsted weight yarn of your choice (Yarn shown in photo is Red Heart Super Saver in "Cherry Red" "Spring Green", and "White")
  • J (6.0 mm) Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry/Yarn Needle
  • Beads with large openings to accommodate yarn. Topper shown used 11 beads.

Instructions:

Note: I worked one color per round, to change colors, I simply snipped the yarn, fastened off, and tied the new color right on.

Before beginning, string beads onto yarn.  I ended up with 11 beads, but you might want to string a few extra just in case

Ch 4, join in the ch farthest from the hook to create a ring.

Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc) and work 11 dc into the center of the ring

Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc) and work a dc in each space around. Join to close round with a slip stitch.

Repeat round 2 three more times.

Before beginning beaded round use a tapestry needle to string beads onto the yarn. I used 11 beads, but I strung extra just in case.

Beaded round: Ch 3, working a bead into the third ch at the top. Repeat round 2 as before, except you will be adding one bead to each dc stitch. (Note: the beads will be turned inward…that is OK for now, proceed to next section for finishing).

If you have never crocheted with beads before, check out this super helpful video.

Finishing and Assembly:

Weave in any ends. The beaded round will be turned in, flip it outward, kind of like you would a ski hat. Top your bottle of choice and you’re finished!

Happy crocheting lovelies!
