- 6.0 mm J crochet hook
- 1 Ball Boutique Unforgettable from Red Heart Yarn (colorway shown is "Parrot")
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
- Ruler/Tape Measure (optional)
Sizing:

- 6 inches wide
- 80 inches long (work as many rows as you like if you need a different length)
Instructions:
Ch 28
Row 1: In the 6th ch from the hook, work (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc). *Skip 5 ch, then in the next ch work (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc). Repeat from * until 4 chains remain. Work a dc in the last ch.
Row 2: Ch 3 and turn. Work a (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in each ch 3 space from the previous row. Work a dc in the turning chain space.
Repeat row 2 until piece measures 80 inches or desired length.

Finishing & Assembly:
Weave in any ends that remain and you're finished!

You've done it again, Jennifer! I've been looking around for a new project and this one is perfect! I love how soft and airy it is. I want something for those days when I'm looking for more style than warmth.
ReplyDeleteI also think the colors in this yarn would be perfect for the senior citizens at the retirement home that I'm thinking of making some for! They tend to run a little cold and they would feel so special in such cheerful colors!

I'm wanting to use this pattern for a wrap and I always have to block my work. I'm wondering if once you block a piece and you wash it, does it stay blocked or do you have to redo it. BTW...this is a beautiful scarf. Thanks for sharing

Deleteanytime you get a blocked item wet, you will have to reblock it. For example, if you get caught in the rain, or if you wash the item. Sorry to be the bearer of disappointing tidings :(

Looks like the repeat unit is 6 ("skip 5 ch, then in the next chain work...").
DeleteThis scarf pattern has 4 of the (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) repeat units in it.
So (6x4)+4 = 28 is how the starting chain was made. You should be able to start with any multiple of 6, plus 4.

DeleteHello i found your pattern on Pinterest and its so beautiful!! The yarn color is pretty so I went out to buy it in the color Dragonfly but honestly im not too happy with this yarn. Its very fuzzy and when I pull project apart because I made a mistake, it gets tangled up and tears. Is there a similar yarn that I can use instead of the Red Heart Unforgettable?

ReplyDeleteMarcia to Anita Simpson. Give this a try. At the top left of your computer screen, you should see the name FILE. Click that. A drop down should list print option. Hope that helps.

I am a beginner and your pattern looked easy, so I bought the yarn in Stained Glass color. The yarn is very slippery, and I am having to go really slowly! However, by row 3 I got the hang of it and I love the colors!It is going to turn out nicely, I think.

ReplyDeleteBEGA CROTCHETING THIS SCARF VERY SIMPLE AND QUITE PRETTY I USED A YARN I HAPPEED TO PICK UP THAT IS bernat yarn inspirations "Pop" yarn it is Blue blaze which has shades of teal blue, light blue, light purple, and lighter teals the only thing it is not changing color every row light the red heart, but still coming out beautiful. Also the first thing I thought of what a beautiful pattern for a bed. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteI'm confused. If I just stopped at row 80. One end is the starting chain so it's straight and row 80 has the scalloped edge. This doesn't seem right. How do you make the last row straight when the previous row is scalloped.
ReplyDeleteI would add one pattern row to the starting row when finished. It usually works well, however I haven't made this yet, so can't be sure in this case.
DeleteWhat I did, after the last dc into turning chain, was:
Delete[4 chain, slip stitch into the middle chain of the chain-3] 4 times once for each "scallop"
then 4 chain stitch and a slip stitch into the last chain of the turning chain
This wont look exactly like the start but it makes a neat straight edge for the scarf!
I wanted to make a 4 inch scarf so I started by chaining 22. It works out great! Thanks for such a beautiful lacy scarf. I paired it with a lacy look Cloche hat I crocheted.
