Granny Eggs and Garland, Free Crochet Pattern + Video Tutorial



It's colorful egg season! Crochet these cute, fun, and bright as can be eggs to add to your springtime decor. Leave them as is or make them into a garland too!

Materials:
  • 5.0 mm "H" crochet hook
  • Cotton dishcloth yarn of your choice ( I used Lily Sugar & Creme by Yarnspirations in "Mod Blue" "Hot Orange" "Hot Pink" and "Hot Green"
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors


Sizing:
  • 4 inches tall
  • 3.5 inches wide


Abbreviations and Tutorial Links:

Instructions for Eggs:
Ch 4, then join in the furthest ch from the hook to create a ring (you can use the magic ring if you prefer instead.

Round 1: Ch 4, the work (dc, ch 1) in the center of the ring 11 times.

Round 2: Ch 3, then work a dc, ch in the first space. Work (2 dc, ch 1) in each space for the remainder of the round.

Round 3: Ch 2, then work (2 sc, ch 1) in the first space. In each of the next 3 spaces, work (3 sc, ch 1). Work (3 hdc, ch 1) in each of the next two spaces. Work (3 dc, ch 1) in the next space. Work (3 tr, ch 1) in each of the next two spaces. Work (3 dc, ch 1) in the next space. Work (3 hdc, ch 1) in each of the next two spaces. Join with a sl st to close round.

Fasten off and weave in any ends that remain.

Instructions for Garland:
Ch 16, then work s slip stitch into the top most space of the egg. Ch 16 more, then add the next egg and so on until you've incorporated all of the eggs. After you add the last egg, ch 16 more. Fasten off and trim or weave in ends.
