*This is a self-paced project, so definitely go at the speed you feel most comfortable. The instructional videos and posts will be up forever and you will always be able to go back and watch again and again!

Because there are those of you who prefer a written pattern and those who prefer a video tutorial, below are both. Either way, be sure to check out the video for additional information, plus helpful tips too!

Here’s this week’s CAL video:

Instructions:

(Blanket as shown is worked in a color stripe sequence of 6 rows of each color)

Ch 155 (multiple of 10+5)

Row 1: In the 4th ch from the hook work a dc, then work a dc in each of the next 4 ch. *Skip 2 ch, then work a dc in each of the next 4 ch. Ch 2, then work a dc in each of the next 4 ch. Repeat from * across until there is 1 ch left. Work 2 dc in that last ch.

Row 2: Ch 3 and turn. Work a dc into the first dc. Work a dc in each of the next 4 sts. *Skip the next 2 sts, then work a dc in each of the next 3 sts. Work a (dc, ch 2, dc) in the ch 2 space from the previous row, then work a dc in each of the next 3 sts. Repeat from * until 6 sts remain. Skip the next two sts, then work a dc in each of the next 4 sts. Work 2 dc in the topmost ch of the turning ch.

Repeat row 2 until blanket is 90 inches tall if making the twin size like in the tutorial or desired height.

Need a different size? Here are some common blanket sizes. While they don’t have to be exactly made in these dimensions, you can use this as a general guideline. Fo example, if you need more overhang around a bed, you might need to make your blanket a little bit bigger. Use the multiple count (above) to get desired width, and work as many rows as it takes to get the blanket you’re after.

OK, let’s take a quick peek at the schedule…last week we talked a little bit about the blanket and went over supplies needed:

  1. Love this crochet along! Jennifer, the videos are most helpful to see where to put my hook. I had a few issues with the foundation chain, but on the third try I got the numbers right for the pattern!
