Materials:

5.5 mm “I” crochet hook
Cotton dishcloth yarn (I used Paintbox Cotton Aran in “Pansy Purple” “Raspberry Pink” “Tea Rose”)
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Measuring tape or ruler

Sizing:

Small – 6 inches square
Medium – 8 inches square
Large – 10 inches square

Instructions:

Note: All three sizes are worked the same way, only the starting chain is different. To get the color block effect, switch colors when you like…I worked each dishcloth roughly about 3/4 of the way up first, then switched colors.

Small – Chain 22

Medium – Chain 26

Large – Chain 32

Row 1: In the 3rd ch from the hook work a dc. Work a dc in each ch across.

Row 2: Ch 3 and turn. *Work a fpdc in the next st. Work a bpdc in the next st. Repeat from * to the end of the row, then work a dc in the topmost chain (third chain up) to finish off the row.

Repeat row 2 until the height is the same as the width. If you’d like to make a hanging loop, do not fasten off yarn and ch 8. Join with a slip stitch at the base of the chain to create the loop, then fasten off. Weave in any ends that remain.
