The Festive Cranberry Crochet Fringe Cowl is a fun cowl to both make and wear…I can’t get enough fringe and this one has lots of it!  I made mine in a happy, seasonal red but it would look equally gorgeous in any color you like!  This cowl is seamless, worked in the round and whipped up using just one ball of yarn too.  The on trend fringe makes this a perfect gift for any fashionable friend on your list!

  • Large Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors
  • Ruler/tape measure

Sizing:

  • 10.5 inches tall (without fringe)

Instructions:

Ch 80 (multiple is any even number), the join the furthest ch from the hook with a slip stitch.

Round 1: ch 4, then *skip the next ch, then work a (dc, ch 1) in the next ch.  Repeat from * to the end of the round.  Join in the turning chain in the third chain up with a slip stitch to close the round.

Round 2:  ch 4, then *then work a (dc, ch 1) in the next stitch (this was the dc from the previous round).  Repeat from * to the end of the round.  Join in the turning chain in the third chain up with a slip stitch to close the round.

Repeat round 2 until piece is about 10.5 inches tall from starting chain edge.

Fasten off and weave in and ends that remain.  Add fringe around the bottom edge of the entire cowl in each ch 1 space.  I made the fringe shown 6 inches long.  If you need help adding fringe or have never done fringe, be sure to check out the video and follow along with me step by step!

  1. Thank you for such a beautiful pattern. May I ask can you use a half double stitch instead? Also, can you do less stitches to have it tighter around the nevk? Thanks so much.
