Merry Making Crochet Button Cowl

Materials:

  • 162 yards of super bulky (6 on the yarn weight scale) I used 2 balls of Lion Brand Hometown USA in “Tampa Spice”
  • N (9.0 mm) crochet hook
  • 1 Button (1.5 to 2 inches wide) 
  • Large Tapestry Needle 
  • Scissors

Sizing:

  • 12 Inches Wide
  • 30 Inches Long

Instructions on how to make the Merry Making Button Cowl:

(Multiple of 4 + 2)

Ch 26

Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in next ch, *(1 dc, ch 3, 1 dc) in next ch, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in each of the next 2 ch, repeat from * 1 dc in the last ch.

Row 2: Ch 5 and turn. Work *(3 dc, ch 3, 1 dc) in the ch 3 sp, repeat from * then 3 dc in 3rd ch of t-ch. 

Row 3: Ch 5 and turn. Work *(3 dc, ch 3, 1 dc) in the ch 3 sp, repeat from * then 3 dc in 5th ch of t-ch. Repeat rows 3 until 30 inches long.

 

Sew the button to the bottom corner of the rectangle on the starting chain edge with a piece of matching yarn and large tapestry needle.  See photo below to see button placement:

Fasten off and weave in and ends that remain.
