The Easy Beginner Fringe Scarf is a pretty and super easy to crochet scarf worked flat with basic stitches and topped off with fabulous fringe. Stitched up with a larger hook, it is quick to work up too. Generous sizing and fuzzy, fluffy yarn makes this scarf extra cozy and a lovely gift idea too!

Materials:
- K (6.5 mm) crochet hook
- 1 Ball of Dreamy yarn by Red Heart (one ball is 466 yards, I used the "Celery" colorway)
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
Instructions:
Ch 24 (if you want to make it narrower or wider, simply add or subtract chains as needed)
Row 1: In the 4th ch from the hook, work a dc. Work a dc in each ch across.
Row 2: Ch 3 and turn (counts as a dc). Work a dc in the next stitch and in each stitch across. Finish off the row by working a dc in the topmost chain of the turning chain.
Repeat row 2 until scarf is approximately 76 inches long or desired length.
Finishing:
Weave in all ends. Add fringe across the bottom edges of either end of the scarf. If you need help adding fringe or have never done fringe, be sure to check out the video and follow along with me step by step!
I have been saying for years I want to learn to crochet and your video has been one of the best I have seen for beginners and I'm finally going to try! Thank you!

ReplyDeleteWow you are the first person who actually explaina to begginners and I fully understand. Wow thank you for helping me to achieve what I've been trying to do for the past 20years.
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer! Do you have any recommendations for yarn substitutions on this pattern? It looks like the Red Heart Dreamy yarn has been discontinued. Thanks so much, and thank you for sharing your patterns! They're so easy to follow and make great projects.
