*This is a self-paced project, so definitely go at the speed you feel most comfortable. The instructional videos and posts will be up forever and you will always be able to go back and watch again and again!

Because there are those of you who prefer a written pattern and those who prefer a video tutorial, below are both. Either way, be sure to check out the video for additional information, plus helpful tips too!

Here’s this week’s CAL video:

OK, let’s jump right into those fabulous puff stitch flowers, shall we?

Last week we learned rows 1-7, worked in “Linen” and “Polo” and this week we’ll be working on row 8.  You’ll only need 1 ball of the Chic Sheep for the flowers, but I wanted to add more flower colors, so you can certainly add more if you like!

Row 8: Ch 3 and turn.  Work a (puff, ch 1, puff, ch1) in each ch 1 space (center of each “V” from the previous row.

Note: To make a puff stitch, wrap yarn around hook, bring up a loop (3 loops on the hook), wrap yarn around hook again and bring up a loop (5 loops on the hook), wrap yarn around hook and bring up a loop (7 loops on the hook).  Wrap yarn around hook one last time and bring it through all 7 loops on the hook.  Close stitch with a chain 1.

(Never worked a puff stitch?  Check out the video where I walk you through the stitch step by step!)

Repeat rows 2-8 for the remainder of the shawl until piece measures about 60 inches or desired length. Note: when working row 2 in subsequent rows, work the “V” in between each puff of the previous row.
