Happy July and happy summer lovelies! I am SO excited to announce the summer CAL today! I know lots of you have been eagerly awaiting the summer CAL and today it officially begins! This summer we’re doing a crochet along unlike any we’ve ever done before…it’s the Summer of Dishcloths! Every week in July and August, we’ll have a new and exciting dishcloth pattern, complete with both the written pattern + full video tutorial too…AND our first dishcloth makes it debut TOMORROW!
The supplies are minimal and you can join us for every single one I share, or pick and choose your favorites! Each one will be fun to stitch up with a different look and stitches for each!

Because lots of you like to know ahead of time about supplies, I figured I would share ahead of time. Each pattern/tutorial will have their own supplies, colors, etc, but this should give you a good overview of what we will be using:
- Cotton dishcloth yarn in your favorite colors (I’m using Scrubby Smoothie from Red Heart)
- I (5.5 mm) crochet hook (same hook size for all 9 patterns in this series)
- Ruler/tape measure
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Optional: One of the dishcloths has a “scrubby” edge using Scrubby Cotton from Red Heart, but you can omit if you like.
- Optional: One dishcloth uses Scrubby Sparkle from Red Heart, but you can omit if you like…I’ll provide both options in the video tutorial.
A popular question I get is “My dishcloth is too pretty to use for cleaning, what else can I use it for?” Here are some ideas for your finished projects:
- Use it for a lovely accent under a vase
- Make a set and use them in the spa or shower
- Gift a set of them to a hostess
- Make a bunch up and put them away for holiday/birthday gift giving…you’ll always have a gift on hand ready to go!
- Place one under a candle
- Use on in the center of a table like a modern doily
- Make a set for a baby shower to use a washcloths
- Seam them all together to make a fun cottony blanket
- Stick on or many in picture frames for unique yarny art
- Gift a few for a housewarming

i am so excited anout this CAL. i just joined the group on RAVELRY and though i have been following your blog for quite some time this is the first CAL Im participating in…I should add IT ISY VERY FIRST CAL OF A TIME ANYWHERE. ao I AM wven more excited than your average little bear I think. thank you so much for sharing your talent. YOUR WORK has truly been an inspiration for me as a self taught crocheter. I WISH I knew how to repay you for the joy and creativity that has blossomed in my own work thanks in part to the beauty of yours.
That looks like a "Furls" crochet hook you are using there! I just got my whole set of Furls in these last few days and love them! Also, I closed my Ravelry account because of their antagonistic and offensive statements about our President. Why offend a large portion of users just to make a political statement. Businesses should keep their politics to themselves. Thanks for the Crochet-along!

The last dish cloth which was titled playing in the grass was released on July 2nd. Today is July 30th. There have not been any others released between July 2nd and now. According to the blog descriptions there would be one dishcloth a week for July and August. Has the location of where the patterns are listed changed? Am I in the wrong place to find them?

I loaned my pattern for the crochet Rainbow Sherbet Dishcloth to a friend. She can't find my pattern and I can't find it again on your GORGEOUS site. I'm not a computer person and have been going through pages and pages on your site and can't find it. The pattern is called: RAINBOW SHERBET DISHCLOTH.
Would you be so kind to direct me to your pattern for this lovely dishcloth? I've learned my lesson on sharing patterns with friends – Now I have a copy machine so I make them a COPY! I'm in my 70's and do not know the computer very well.

Thank you for all the patterns you share and tutorials! I made a dishcloth and it looked like a spring flower. It was so pretty I used it for decor in my kitchen and hung it up. 🥰
