Let’s move on to sizing…the blanket as pictured measures approximately 50 inches wide and 72 inches long, a great size for a personal throw blanket and a lovely addition to toss over a sofa to give it an autumnal touch.  However, check out the sizing chart above to get an idea of some standard blanket sizes if you wish to change the dimensions a bit.  If you are not familiar with multiples, definitely check out this week’s video!

Ok, let’s move onto the blanket instructions, shall we?

Autumn Farmhouse Throw Instructions:

*Note: I worked 9 rows of each color.

Ch 145 (multiple of 6+1)

Row 1:   In the 4th ch from the hook, work 2 dc.  *Skip two ch then work a sc in the next ch.  skip 2 ch and in the next ch, work 4 dc.  Repeat from * until there are 3 ch left on the row.  Skip the next two ch, and in the very last ch, work a sc.

Row 2:  Ch 3 and turn.  Work 2 dc in the sc from the previous row.  *Work a sc in the center space of the fan from the previous row (area in between the posts right in the center).  Work 4 dc in the sc in between the next two fans.  Repeat from * to the end of the row.  Work a sc in the turning chain space to finish the row.

Repeat row 2 until blanket is desired height, I worked mine for approximately 72 inches.

  1. Hi Jennifer, first of all, thank you for having these crochet videos. They help me so much to learn as I go. I can read patterns but I enjoy watching and crocheting along. My granddaughter also crochets and has watched videos to learn more. She learned at age 11. She now is 13 and is quite good at this craft. I found your blog by Pinterest. I'm so glad it is still active. Thanks for taking your time to share your patterns.
