Welcome back to the 2019 Fiber Flux Holiday Crochet Along! Today marks part 3 of the CAL and we’ll be making the tree and some snow to put on it for our special holiday themed project…the Merry Little Advent Calendar! This project is a lovely seasonal project and makes a wonderful keepsake. We will be going over a few things today’s part of the crochet along:
- How to crochet the tree
- How to crochet the snow
- Where to connect with other makers
The CAL will be going on through out the month of November so that the calendar will be useable when December arrives, so keep checking back for more CAL updates!
*This is a self-paced project, so definitely go at the speed you feel most comfortable. The instructional videos and posts will be up forever and you will always be able to go back and watch again and again!

How to crochet the tree:
Ch 20
Row 1: In the third ch from the hook, work a hdc. Work a hdc in each ch.
Row 2: Ch 2 and turn. Work a hdc in the first stitch and in each stitch across.
Row 3: Ch 2 and turn. Work a hdc decrease over the first two stitches. Work a hdc in each stitch until there is one stitch remaining, the work a hdc decrease over the last stitch and into the top of the turning chain.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you run out of stitches to decrease. You will have a tapered triangle shape for your tree.
How to crochet the snow:
Top (small) snow chain: ch 10, fasten off.
Middle (medium) snow chain: ch 16, fasten off.
Bottom (large) snow chain: ch 20, fasten off.
Weave in ends of the tree and set aside all pieces until part 6 of the CAL–“Assembly & Finishing”
