Welcome back to the 2019 Fiber Flux Holiday Crochet Along...yippee! Today marks part 5 of the CAL and we'll be making the little drawstring storage bag for the Merry Little Advent Calendar! This project is a lovely seasonal project and makes a wonderful keepsake. We will be going over a few things today to begin:
- How to crochet the drawstring pouch
- How to add the ribbon drawstring
- Where to connect with other makers
The CAL will be going on through out the month of November so that the calendar will be useable when December arrives, so keep checking back for more CAL updates!
*This is a self-paced project, so definitely go at the speed you feel most comfortable. The instructional videos and posts will be up forever and you will always be able to go back and watch again and again!

How to crochet the drawstring bag:
Note: I worked two rounds of each color: 2 green, 2 red, 2 white, then repeat throughout.
Ch 4, then join in the furthest ch from the hook with a slip stitch to create a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3, then work 11 dc into the center of the ring. Join to close round with a slip stitch.
Round 2: Ch 3, then work a dc into the first st. *Work 2 dc into the next stitch. Repeat from * around. Join to close round with a slip stitch.
Round 3: Repeat round 2.
Rounds 4-16: Ch 3, then work a dc into the first st. *Work 1 dc into the next stitch. Repeat from * around. Join to close round with a slip stitch.
Fasten off yarn and weave in all ends. Weave ribbon as shown in the photos and cinch/tie closed. You can use a tapestry needle to help guide it through. I wove mine about 4 rows down from the top edge.
