This project is part of the 12 Weeks of Gifting Series! Each week from NOW to the end of December, I’ll be sharing a new pattern for something that is super easy and super quick to whip up. We’ll be using the same yarn and same hook size for every single project, just switching up the colors a bit. Many of these projects can be made in just one sitting too!

Materials:
- L (8.0 mm) crochet hook
- 45 yards of #5/bulky weight yarn for the main color (I used Red Heart Super Saver Chunky in the “Gray Heather” colorway)
- 10 yards of #5/bulky weight yarn for the contrasting color for the two stripes (I used Red Heart Super Saver Chunky in the “Dark Orchid” colorway)
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
- Tape Measure
Sizing:
- 7 inches tall
- 9.5 inch circumference
Abbreviations and Tutorial Links:
Instructions:
Ch 18, join in the chain furthest from the hook with a slip stitch.
Round 1: Ch 2, then work a hdc in the first ch and in each ch around. Join to close the round with a sl st.
Round 2: Ch 2, then work a hdc in the first st and in each st around. Join to close the round with a sl st.
Round 3 (purple/stripe round): Repeat round 2.
Rounds 4-7: Repeat round 2.
Round 8: Ch 2, then work a hdc into the stitch and the next stitch. Ch 3, skip three stitches, then work a hdc into each stitch for the rest of the round. Join to close the round with a sl st.
Round 9: Ch 2, then work a hdc into the stitch and the next stitch. Work 3 hdc into the ch 3 space, then work a hdc into each stitch for the rest of the round. Join to close the round with a sl st.
Round 10: Repeat round 2.
Round 11: Repeat round 2.
Fasten off and weave in any ends that remain.
