Materials:
- Yarn of your choice (I used Red Heart Super Saver in “Amethyst” “Pumpkin” and “Spring Green”
- Hair ties (the plain elastic kind)
- Scissors
Instructions:
- Cut a piece of yarn about 12 inches long, set aside.
- Wrap yarn around all four fingers either 100 times for a smaller pom (shown in orange and green above) or 200 times for a larger pom (shown in purple in the picture above).
- Carefully slip the bundle off of your fingers and lay it on the strand of yarn you cut earlier.
- Tie tightly.
- Cut all of the loops from your bundle, taking care not to cut the two long strands from where you ties it earlier.
- Trim all of the pom pom ends down until it is neat, uniform, and “dense” looking.
- Give it a firm shake to remove any yarn crumbs that remain.
- Tie it onto a hair tie with a secure knot and trim ends flush to rest of pom pom.
- Fluff it up with your hands and trim any stray ends that may be sticking out.
Happy yarn crafting!
