Note: To make a puff stitch, wrap yarn around hook, bring up a loop (3 loops on the hook), wrap yarn around hook again and bring up a loop (5 loops on the hook), wrap yarn around hook and bring up a loop (7 loops on the hook). Wrap yarn around hook one last time and bring it through all 7 loops on the hook. Close stitch with a chain 1.

Row 2: Ch 3 and turn. Work a puff stitch into the first v stitch from the previous row (ch 1 space), Work a v stitch in the ch 1 at the top of the puff st from the previous row. Rpt from * across, then work a dc into the turning chain space.
Row 3: Ch 3 and turn. Work a v stitch into the top chain of the first puff stitch from the previous row. Work a puff stitch into the v stitch (ch 1 space) from the previous row. Rpt from * across, then work a dc into the turning chain space.
