Materials:

Finished Sizing:

  • 5 inches wide
  • 51 inch circumference

Instructions:

Note: if you have never Tunisian crocheted before, I highly recommend the video!

Chain 20 (you can do any number of chains you like to get the preferred width)

Row 1 (forward pass): Insert the hook into the 2nd chain from hook. Yarn over and bring up a loop, leaving the loop on the hook. *Insert the hook in next chain, yarn over and pull up a loop, leaving the loop on the hook. Repeat from * to the end of the row.

Row 1 (return pass): Yarn over and pull through first loop. *Yarn over and pull through the next two loops. Repeat from * until only one loop remains on hook.

Row 2 (forward pass): Insert the hook into the 2nd vertical bar from hook. Yarn over and bring up a loop, leaving the loop on the hook. *Insert the hook in next bar, yarn over and pull up a loop, leaving the loop on the hook. Repeat from * to the end of the row.

Row 2 (return pass): Yarn over and pull through first loop. *Yarn over and pull through the next two loops. Repeat from * until only one loop remains on hook.

Repeat row 2 (both forward pass and return pass parts of the row) until you have one loop left on the hook and piece is 51 inches long, or desired length. Allow yourself a few yards of yarn to complete the bind off and seaming of the scarf, then move on to the sext section to bind off/seam.

Bind Off: Insert the hook into the 2nd bar from hook. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Pull that same loop through the loop that is already on the hook. *Insert the hook into the next bar, yarn over and pull up a loop. Pull that same loop through the loop that is already on the hook. Repeat from * to the end of row. Fasten off, leaving a long tail (about 18 to 24 inches).

Assembly & Finishing:

  • Whip stitch seam the two ends of the scarf using the long tail.
  • Weave in any ends and you’re finished!
