Welcome to the 2021 Fiber Flux Summer Crochet Along…yippee! Today marks week one of the CAL and we are going to be making an amazing series of projects this time…the Summer Spa Getaway CAL! Each week we’ll make a different spa item (everything is listed below) and at the end, you’ll have a beautiful collection of spa themed crochet items that you can use for self-care or lovely gifts too! This series is easy and fun…meant to be a relaxing, easy going summer project, all part of our spa theme!
We will be going over a few things today to begin:
- Introduction to the project
- Items we will be making
- Supplies needed
- Schedule of the CAL
- Where to connect with other makers
The CAL will be happening over the next few weeks, and each week we’ll make something new. You can make as much or as little as you like! Scroll down for the schedule with actual dates and what we’ll be making on each day/week.
*This is a self-paced project, so definitely go at the speed you feel most comfortable. The instructional videos and posts will be up forever and you will always be able to go back and watch again and again!

First things first…the supplies!
For every project in the series you’ll need:
- 5.0 mm “H” crochet hook
- Cotton dishcloth yarn, use what you may have on hand or a favorite…it’s flexible! I used 24/7 cotton from Lion Brand Yarn (colorways: ecru, lilac, and aqua)
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
- Tape Measure

Oh, this is so cool, Jennifer! I need some relaxing crochet projects right about now. It seems like everything I've made this year had a deadline and that automatically adds a level of stress for me. So I am really happy to see your CAL come along at just the right time. �� I'm off to pick out the colors and gather supplies; I'll be right here next week with everything in front of me, all ready to start stitching…and probably drooling on my desk in anticipation. Would you know by chance how much total cotton we would need for all the projects in this CAL if we used 3 colors like in the sample? I would like to purchase all my cotton at once but need to know how much to get. Thank you in advance!
