Crochet Valentine Candy, Free Crochet Pattern + Video Tutorial

If you need a super quick and completely adorable crochet Valentine, you’re in the right place!  Stitch up some crochet candy and pop one into a loved one’s tote bag, lunch, or coat pocket as a fun surprise!  Two one round hearts are stuffed and stitched together to make either a wrapped hard candy heart or a heart pop too!

Materials:

Instructions For Puffy “Candy” Heart (make 2 for each puffy heart you want to make):

Ch 4, join with a slip stitch in the furthest ch from the hook to create a ring

Into the center of the ring, work (2 dc, 3 tr, 2 dc, 2 tr, ch 1, 1 tr, 2 dc, 3 tr, 3 dc, then a slip stitch into the center of the ring.  Fasten off, leaving a long tail for seaming your heart together.

Assembly for “Hard Candy” Heart:  Line up two hearts, both facing outward and use the long tail to seam them together around the outer edge.  Go almost all of the way around, stuff the heart, then seam the rest of the way closed.  weave in any ends that remain.  Wrap the heart in a piece of cellophane, tying either end with a piece of ribbon.  Trim excess cellophane.

Assembly for “Lollipop” Heart:  Line up two hearts, both facing outward and use the long tail to seam them together around the outer edge, starting at the bottom point of the heart .  Go almost all of the way around, stuff the heart, then place some glue at the end of a lollipop stick and put in the base of the heart.  Let dry and cool completely.  Wrap the heart pop in a piece of cellophane, tying it with a piece of ribbon.  Trim excess cellophane.
