Materials:

  • 6.0 mm J crochet hook
  • 482 yards of worsted/#4 weight yarn (I used 1 skein of Super Saver Ombre by Red Heart in the “Baja Blue” colorway)
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors
  • Tape measure

        Sizing:

        • 9 inches wide
        • 60 inches long

        Pattern Notes:

        • To make your scarf wider, use any number of chains you want, there is no special stitch count.
        • To make your scarf longer, simply work more rows of the pattern.
        • To work the loop stitch, pull a loop downwards in front of you in front of your work using your thumb. Insert the hook into the stitch (make sure your loop is to the right of your work) and bring up a loop.  Wrap yarn around hook and bring it through both loops.  Remove your thumb, and now you have a loop in your work!

        Instructions:

        Ch 30

Row 1: In the third chain from the hook, work a hdc.  Work a hdc in each chain across.

Row 2: Ch 2 and turn.  Work a hdc into the first stitch and in each stitch across.  Then, work a hdc into the turning chain at the end of the row.

        Row 3-11: Repeat row 2.

Row 12: Ch 1 and turn.  Work a loop stitch into each stitch across. (if you need help with this stitch, see my notes and video above!)

        Row 13: Repeat row 2.

Row 14: Ch 1 and turn.  Work a loop stitch into each stitch across.

Repeat rows 3-14 until the scarf measures about 60 inches long or desired length, ending on row 11.
